Accreditation
Accreditation is the process which international schools use to ensure the high standards and continual improvement of their schools. There are a variety of organisations that international schools can be accredited by and is required by Thai law that all international schools are in the process of accreditation. In 2005, The British School of Bangkok entered the accreditation process by becoming a member of the Council of International Schools (CIS).
The central purpose of CIS is to enable member organisations to achieve and deliver the highest standards in International Education and continually improve the outcome of student learning. It has over 600 member schools and experience of accrediting different age ranges and in more than 100 different countries. It is through the moderation of CIS that we are continually improving and developing as a school and community.
In April of 2009 The British School of Bangkok became fully accredited by CIS, one of only a handfull of schools in Thailand. The school values the accreditation process and is constantly using the process to ensure the highest possible standards are attained.
So what does accreditation tell you about our school;
- the school is devoted to its mission. It cares enough about what it does to seek validation by a recognised accreditation authority.
- the school knows itself. It has thought deeply about the services it offers to students, family and community.
- The schol is student-orientated. Its philosophy of education is suitable for the students on roll, and encompasses the dvelopment of the whole individual.
- The school keeps its promises. It only promises what is can deliver.
- The school accepts objective assessment. It is prepared to open its doors periodically to regular evaluation by the school community and by outside experienced evaluators.
- The school is constantly seeking to improve its performance in curricular and other areas.
- The school plans for the future.
Accreditation ensures that the school meets the demanding standards in the following areas;

Accreditation
Parents and children are seeking a quality education for their families. Expatriate parents have the problem of moving to a variety of countries sometime regularly with few guidelines on how best to select a school. The fact that our school has been accredited lets you know the high standards that we expect as a school and that we will constantly develop practices to the benefit of the students and the school community.
